    cramped bathroom
    poor location

I can't believe how cramped the bathroom was, definitely not designed for anyone over 6 feet! I almost thought the staff would've upgraded my room, but i guess everyone else deserved to enjoy it as well. The location was terrible, a 30-minute walk to the nearest train. I just couldn't give a good review.

We walked everywhere, the location was fantastic, by shops in the area. And it was also near the center of kyoto, central train station, and buses for many different sights.

The location was beautiful to public transport or a longer walk. Further, it was really close to the neighborhood restaurants, the main city attractions, and Nishi and Higashi Hongan-ji temples as well as numerous restaurants;)))

The traditional futon beds were super comfy, and I appreciated the easy access to a public onsen for a relaxing soak.

location: the hotel was close enough to train stations, kyoto station, and a bus stop or subway. went to restaurant & bar kazahana for drink or two, set a 10-15 minute walking distance from the venue. the rooms were new-fashioned and functional with zen garden view and private garden, for example, i enjoyed that. the offered breakfast was lovely and delicious with more options.

    onsen experience
    traditional futon
    cramped bathroom

Onsen experience offered a relaxing and authentic touch. Traditional futon beds provided a unique sleeping environment.

Bathrooms cramped to the point of absurdity, barely accommodating basic needs. Noise from partying guests and cars on the nearby avenue made sleep harder to come by than it should be.

public onsen experience, authentic Japanese style rooms, high-quality WIFI

The hotel's signage is way too small and discreet!!! The proximity to any attractions is far from ideal, being a 13-minute walk to the nearest tube. A bit inconvenient!!!

    authentic experience
    limited breakfast
    small signage
    room size

The ambience provided a unique chance to connect with family amidst traditional surroundings. The cleanliness and comfortable bedding in our Japanese-Style Superior Room were amazing, great to relax fully. While the breakfast was delicious, it felt somewhat limited- a minor drawback to an otherwise fantastic experience. The signage could be more noticeable for easier navigation. Nevertheless, the authentic onsen experience enhanced our stay significantly.

    traditional charm
    limited options
    cramped bathroom

The pros, the cons, and everything between

Really good attention from staff. The traditional futons contributed to a good night's sleep, and the atmosphere exuded authentic Japanese charm.

Room bathrooms were cramped,, which may pose challenges for larger guests. Breakfast options felt somewhat limited for the curious palate.
